Development Trend Analysis of China Touch Screen Industry

In recent years, under the influence of rapid development in display panel, display module industry and the emerging downstream consumer electronics market, Chinese manufacturers have increased investment on production projects of touch screen related products, Chinese touch screen industrial scale is developing rapidly.

 Over the past decade, the touch screen industry has undergone various types of development, such as acoustic wave, infrared ray, resistive, and capacitive type one after another, a more mature industry posture has been formed. In the future, the development of touch screen industry will mainly depend on technological innovation and breakthrough of new craft.

 OGS (One Glass Solution): A technology that directly forms an ITO conductive film and a sensor on a protective glass in recent years, the touch sensing lines are directly etched onto a cover glass to reduce a layer of glass substrate and a lamination, it has drawn wide concern in the industrial because of its higher light transmittance and light weight body, moreover, it has more advantages on product line investment and yield than embedded touch screen .When the OGS technology gets mature, it will save more cost ,reduce screen thickness and weight. At present, the major OGS manufacturers are focusing on the development of medium and large size screen.

 3D Touch: multi and three-dimensional touch technology. 3D touch is also a new screen touch technology, not only lightly tapping and swipe of force touch can be realized, but also a new “Repress screen” dimension function is added.

3D multi touch technology is equivalent to an upgrade of force touch with a new touch function added-“Repress”, other aspects of force touch are the same. For domestic manufacturers, the current force touch and 3D multi touch technology are still the breakthrough at key areas in the future.

With the continuous expansion of touch screen applications, features like large size, fast response, precisely control become the latest requirements of touch screen. Therefore, major companies are speeding up the development of various types of new materials, trying to seize the initiative.

In recent years, with the increasingly extended research and development of new flexible transparent conductive materials such as conductive polymer, silver nanowires, metal grid, carbon nanotube and graphene, the industrialization process has accelerated obviously. Compared with ITO transparent conductive film, the new materials show a strong substitution, grand breakthroughs have been gained in medium and large size touch screen area.
