Introduction of capacitive touch screen

Structure of capacitive touch screen is a coated transparent film on glass screen, with a protective glass on the conductor layer. Conductor layer and sensor can be completed protected with the double design.

 

Long narrow electrodes are coated on each edge of capacitive touch screen, a low-voltage AC electric field will be formed in conductor. When touch the screen, a coupling capacitor will be formed between fingers and conductor due to the human body electric field. Current from four sides electrode flow to the touch spot, and the current strength is proportional to distance from finger to electrode .Thus, the controller will accurately calculates the touch location by calculating the ratio and strength of current. Double glass of capacitive touch screen can protect conductor and inductor, also protect the screen from  external environmental factors. Capacitive touch screen can still accurately calculate the touch location even if there is pollution, dust and oil stain on it.

 

Capacitive touch screen: A layer of transparent special metal conductive material is pasted on glass surface. When the finger touches the metal layer, the capacitance of the contact changes, it causes change of oscillator frequency which is connected with. By measuring the frequency change, the touch location can be confirmed. As the capacitance changes with the temperature, humidity or grounding conditions, so it’s not stable, there is often deviation. This kind of touch screen is suitable for the debugging stage of system development.
